WHAT WE DO
Beaux Arts Conservation specializes in the repair of decorative objects, specifically ceramics, glass, stone, plastics, and mixed media objects. We also provide a broad spectrum of services designed to manage most aspects of the care of an artifact from acquisition to deaccession. Though conservation treatments are the mainstay of our business, we offer consultation services for collections management, including assessments, documentation, registration, environmental monitoring, storage, staff and volunteer training, and safety.
For more examples of completed projects, please view the PORTFOLIO page.
HOW IT WORKS
Call or email us with your issue. We will discuss the options and determine a plan of action. For conservation treatments, an appointment will be scheduled to examine the item. Bring your object and all pieces (no matter how small) to the studio at the appointed time. If the object is too large or can't be moved, an appointment can be made to see it in situ at your home or place of business. The object will be examined and an estimate of the time and cost will be provided. Should you approve the treatment, the work will be completed and a treatment report that includes 'Before' and 'After' photos may be provided to you upon completion of the project.
In some cases, we can pick up and deliver items locally. We do accept shipments of objects, but please notify us in advance if you plan to ship so that we may track it. If we cannot repair your object in-house, we will work with conservators or artisans of other disciplines to get the care needed.
