GRADUATE THESIS WORK
As part of the Master of Arts in Conservation Studies at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation, graduate level research was undertaken in the form of a thesis. The topic of the thesis was to determine if mold spores (conidia) on the surface of plaster objects could be killed with the use of UV-C light without affecting the plaster. The research was conducted from 2018-2019, and recieved the highest grade possible in the college system - Level 1 or "Pass with Distinction." Though further research is needed, in this case, it was determined that UV-C lght effectively killed the mold on the plaster surfaces without causing any damage.
